Mount Manengouba Reserve Carbon Project
The 16,000 hectare Mount Manengouba Project is a highly biodiverse carbon project and reserve, centred around a dormant volcano. Wildlife corridors connect animal populations across multiple national parks, creating a globally significant protected area.
The mountain’s twin crater lakes Lake Mbo (deep blue) and Lake Aka (emerald green) sit at 2,400m, set in a 3 km wide volcanic caldera, with panoramic rim views. The project reintroduces gorillas and other large fauna such as elephants, creating a worldclass tourist destination within the Cameroonian highlands.
Working with local communities and local NGO partners, all of this will be enabled through carbon and biodiversity credits.
